PGL⁡(3,C)\operatorname{PGL}(3,\mathbb C) is the

PGL⁡(3,C)=GL⁡(3,C)/{λI:λ∈C×},\operatorname{PGL}(3,\mathbb C)=\operatorname{GL}(3,\mathbb C)/\{\lambda I:\lambda\in \mathbb C^\times\},

with the structure.

Dimensions and structure

This group has real dimension 1616, complex dimension 88. It acts on by applying a representative matrix to a line. Every nonzero complex determinant has an 33th root. Rescaling a representative therefore identifies PSL(3,C)\mathrm{PSL}(3,\mathbb C) with PGL(3,C)\mathrm{PGL}(3,\mathbb C).

Its structure uses holomorphic multiplication and inversion. Forgetting the complex structure gives the ; real and holomorphic homomorphisms belong to different categories.
