PGL⁡(2,C)\operatorname{PGL}(2,\mathbb C) is the

PGL⁡(2,C)=GL⁡(2,C)/{λI:λ∈C×},\operatorname{PGL}(2,\mathbb C)=\operatorname{GL}(2,\mathbb C)/\{\lambda I:\lambda\in \mathbb C^\times\},

with the structure.

Dimensions and structure

This group has real dimension 66, complex dimension 33. It acts on by applying a representative matrix to a line. Every nonzero complex determinant has an 22th root. Rescaling a representative therefore identifies PSL(2,C)\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb C) with PGL(2,C)\mathrm{PGL}(2,\mathbb C).

Its structure uses holomorphic multiplication and inversion. Forgetting the complex structure gives the ; real and holomorphic homomorphisms belong to different categories.
